Why Summer Is a Great Time for Sales
Summer is one of the busiest times on the road. More people are traveling, more teens are getting their licenses, and more drivers are taking steps to protect themselves and others. That makes it a great time to grow your business and help your community.
This guide is for you if:
- You run a driving school, law office, or promote American Safety Institute courses on your website
- You want to increase your traffic and enrollments
- You’re not a marketing expert and you don’t want to become one
Here are five things you can do this summer to help more people find your courses and choose you as their provider.
1. Update Your Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile is a free tool that allows businesses to manage how they appear in Google Search and Google Maps. Updating your profile well helps your business will show up more often in searches and appear more trustworthy to potential customers who find it.
Here’s what to do:
- Make sure your business name, hours, phone number, and website URL are correct
- Add keywords to your description like “defensive driving,” “online traffic school,” or “state-approved driving course”
- Upload a few photos: your classroom, logo, or anything that shows you’re active
If you don’t have a profile yet, set one up free at Google Business Profile.
2. Ask Your Customers for Reviews
People trust other people. A good review can make someone more likely to sign up with you instead of a competitor.
Here’s how to make it easy:
- Ask for a review at the end of the course while the experience is still fresh in their mind
- Give them a printed card or QR code with your review link
- If you're emailing certificates, include a quick sentence like:
If you had a good experience, would you leave us a quick Google review? It helps others find us.
How to find your Google review link:
To find your Google review link, navigate to your Business Profile on Google. Locate the “Get more reviews” section and click “Share review form” to generate the link. Alternatively, you can search for your business on Google and click the “Write a review button,” then copy the URL.
TIP: Copy and paste your best reviews into emails or social posts to show how much your students trust you.
3. Send a Simple Summer Email
If you have past customers or other leads you can email, send a quick message to remind them it’s a great time to take a course, especially before a trip, to lower insurance, or to clean up points.
It doesn’t have to be fancy. Try this:
Subject line: Stay safe on the road this summer
Message: Planning a trip? Now’s the perfect time to refresh your driving knowledge and save money on insurance. Take an online driving course from an approved provider. It’s fast, affordable, and fully online.
Then link to your course page.
You can send emails using free tools like Mailchimp or Sender.net.
4. Post Once or Twice a Week on Social Media
You don’t have to post every day. Even one or two posts a week can keep your business visible to your followers and help people share your courses with friends or family.
You can post:
- A quick driving safety tip
- A link to a blog article or course page
- A positive customer review
- A reminder to take a course before a summer road trip
Every month in the Partner Hub, we provide you with ready-made posts and images. Just copy and paste them into Facebook, Instagram, or anywhere else you’re active.
5. Get Out in the Community
Digital marketing is important, but don’t forget the power of local connections.
Here are a few ideas you can try this summer:
- Put up a few lawn signs near busy roads or intersections
- Ask local insurance agents to refer clients who need a course (offer them a flyer or link)
- Drop off posters or brochures at community centers, libraries, or coffee shops
- Connect with a local high school to promote first-time driver courses for teens
You can even create a simple flyer with a QR code that links directly to your course page; many free websites let you generate QR codes in seconds.
One Last Thing: You Don’t Have to Do It All
Pick one or two ideas to start with, whatever feels most doable for you. Even small changes, like updating your Google profile or sending one email, can lead to better visibility and more sales.
