Organic Posting on Social Media: What It Is and How to Do It

Updated: March 2025

Applies To

  • Driving school owners new to marketing their business on social media
  • Affiliates and businesses who want to increase their online presence
  • Entrepreneurs who have used social media personally but not for their business

What Is Organic Posting on Social Media?

Organic posts on social media are those you create without using paid promotion to get it to stand out. (Similar to what you do on your personal social media.) These posts appear to your followers. They can be shared, liked, and commented on. The degree to which people interact with your content determines how much visibility it gets in the algorithm, unlike paid social media, which can buy its way to the top. Organic content can take longer to gain traction, but it builds lasting trust and higher quality engagement over time.

Why does organic posting work? It:

  • Builds credibility: Regular posting establishes your business as an industry expert
  • Encourages engagement: Quality content lets your audience connect with your brand authentically
  • Increases brand awareness: More posts mean more chances for people to see your business
  • Cost-effective: No ad budget required

What Should You Post?

How Often Should You Post?

You don’t need to post daily, but consistency is key. If you’re not sure where to start, try with these industry standard recommendations:

Platform

Recommended Posting Frequency

Facebook

3-5 times per week

Instagram

3-5 times per week (including Stories and Reels)

LinkedIn

2-3 times per week

Consistency matters more than frequency. If your competitors aren’t posting, even 80% effort is better than nothing. Just be sure to assess the risk vs. reward and make sure the time you’re spending on social media is providing a return on investment (ROI).

Managing Engagement and Support Questions

When you start posting, people will comment and message you. Make sure you have a plan:

  • Monitor comments and messages. Check notifications at least once per day
  • Respond to comments. A simple “Thank you!” or answering a question builds trust
  • Direct support requests. If someone asks about your services or has an issue, reply with something like: “Thanks for reaching out! For support, visit [yourwebsite.com/support] or message us directly.”
